The plan is for this new site to become as much an online hub for scale model miniaturists and figure makers as Armorama has become for other military scale modeling projects. We can't do that without your help and interaction though. So please take a moment to look around, signup if you haven't already created an account on Armorama or the KitMaker Network. And if you have that login will work here just fine.
We are always interested in user contributions of photos, articles, reviews or anything you feel your fellow modelers might be interested in. In many ways this is YOUR site. It is not the work of one person or even a small handful. And that is the way we like it.Link to Us!
As we are just starting out with this new community, we would be very grateful to anyone who would link to our site. There are several images below you can use.
Historicus Forma Staff
Jim Starkweather, PUBLISHER, MANAGING EDITORS
Jim is the founder and sole software developer for the KitMaker Network. He created Armorama back in 2001 as a hobby to learn more about how to build large community Web sites. As someone who had built models, Jim was hoping that creating a fun and interactive site covering scale modeling might even get him back into the hobby (and it has). He lives in Dublin, New Hampshire with his wife, daughter, and three dogs.
Engin Kayral, SENIOR EDITOR, ASSOCIATE EDITORS
As the young son of a modeling Air Force colonel, Engin started modelling aircrafts at 8 years old. After donating more than 60 aircraft models to the TuAF Air Traffic Control Training Labs when he was 25, Engin changed genre to armor and dioramas. As a medical doctor, Engin's close relation to human anatomy, as well as his personal interest in converting figures, saw him focus his hobby on figures.
Engin joined Armorama in December 2001. In addition to being Senior Editor for Historicus Forma Modeling, Engin is also the Editor of Turkorama (Turkish Community Forum). Engin lives in Izmir on Turkey's Aegean coast with his wife and 2 sons.
Mario Matijasic, SENIOR EDITOR, ASSOCIATE EDITORS
Mario Matijasic (Maki) comes from Zagreb, Croatia. He started modeling at an early age with airplanes being in the focus of his interests. After that came a more serious modeling phase with 1/35 scale vehicles, figures and vignettes. Mario is a member of a local modeling club (MK Grunf) and likes to spend time with his clubmates; sometimes modeling, more often just enjoying a beer.
Mario joined Armorama at the very beginnings of Kitmaker Network. His staff career started on Historicus Forma Modeling, but after couple of years he joined the ranks of Armorama staff as Senior Editor.
Marcin Kardaszewski, ASSOCIATE EDITOR, ASSOCIATE EDITORS
