Service Publications is pleased to announce the imminent release of the first two volumes, of a 7-volume set, on Canadian Army badges by noted badge historian Chris Brooker. We are accepting on-line orders now for delivery on October 10.
These titles will be available in paperback as well as a limited quantity of hard cover copies. Clients buying hard cover copies of the first volumes will be assured of having all future volumes in hard cover also, provided the purchase was made on-line from Service Publications.
Each volume consists of over 220 pages with each badge shown both obverse and reverse. Badges covered in the series include metal cap, collar and shoulder titles although some cloth badges are also shown. Each volume includes an identical appendix illustrating and describing the various styles of manufacturers' lugs. Of interest to the collector is that each variant is provided with a value.

This fully illustrated book will showcase the colourful and wide variety of headdress worn by the Canadian military from 1812 to the present. Included are sections on cocked hats, forage caps, cavalry helmet, Home Service pattern and universal pattern (white) helmets, winter headdress, shakoes, slouch hats, field service caps and much more. Chapters also include the RCAF and the RCN. Appendices provide extensive detail extracted from General Orders and Dress regulations on colours of piping, plumes and hackles worn.
The book includes an extended introduction by well-known historian Rene Chartrand.
