I believe these figures are actually wearing the rubberised motorcycle coat. The give away is the round pocket on the figure wearing the officers cap & the pleating on the rear of the other figure. If you look carefully, you will see that Alpine have also moulded the press studs around the skirt of the coat, which allowed it to be fastened up around the legs while on the bike. These coats were very popular with German soldiers & officers, not just motorcyclists, as they were completely waterproof, made of a rubberised cotton; the look of the fabric has been very well captured by the sculptor, having the characteristic "stiffness" that a wool greatcoat doesn't. They were eagerly sought after, particularly by officers, & it was not unusual to see it worn even in tanks. Incidentally the only insignia worn on these coats were shoulder straps. The only drawback to the coat was that if it was worn for front line infantry use it was prone to tear.

Agreed... but "Alpine release German Officers in rubberised motorcyclist greatcoats" wouldn't fit in the title bar I believe it's the early coat? M1934? Rudi

Each to there own I suppose. I like the inclusion of the rubberised coat, which is largely ignored by model manufacturers, so this set appeals to me. Rudi
