In-Box Review
54mm
Muslim House Corner

by: Costas Rodopoulos [ MAJOR_GOOSE ]

Disclaimer: The images above were supplied by the manufacturer and painted by their artists.

Introduction:

ASL-013 Muslim House Corner is another base kit from the very useful PegasObjects range from Pegaso Models. These kits can serve the modeler as either parts of scenes or complete scenes; these highly detailed 54mm resin kits that can be used as scenes for figures, or part of the modeler’s scenic construction. Greek sculptor Christos Apostolopoulos sculpts this kit, Muslim House Corner.

Boxing:

The kit comes in a sturdy, dark colored, relatively big carton box. The box-art, by Andrea Tessarini, provides 3 different colored pictures as a painting guide, and a figure positioning suggestion. The box is filled with paper strips, which serves as protection to the 5 resin pieces, which are inside a zip locker plastic bag.

The Kit:

The kit consists of 5 pieces. A half door with wall piece, a half arch with wall piece, a stone floor base, a small shelve and a vase. The dimensions of the assembled kit are 5 x 5 cm for the base and 10.5 cm height.

Quality:

The kit is sculpted really nice, with great attention to detail and the definition of the pieces. The wall texture is fine and the door and floor sculpting will be definitely enhanced a lot with the painters help.

The casting (done from the Greek company YS Castings - Masterpieces) is absolutely flawless with no air holes or anything else that has to be corrected.

Fit:

The kit is really simple in construction for everyone, experienced or not, and it comes together quite perfectly. Despite the relatively small square base I think this could hold even 2 figures as a small vignette.

Conclusion:

Another beautiful and useful kit, which will help any level modeler to have nice scenery for his figure or a 2 figures vignette. Highly suggested for all modelers. Take care in colors and smooth painting and you will be “Pegaso Satisfied”!

About Costas Rodopoulos (Major_Goose)
FROM: KIKLADHES, GREECE / Ελλάδα

I started modelling 27 years ago with some 1/72 planes and military vehicles. Soon the diorama bug got into me and with Sheperd Paynes books I dug in. I loved to build dioramas and military vehicles till the Vietnam Era. I don't like modern stuff so much. 4 years ago I had a crush on figure painti...

Cool base, another nice one to add to the inspiration list for me. As an all around modeler I see some of these kits more as inspiration than as a product to purchase. I think sometimes it's easier to build one myself and more satisfying. Not that there is anything wrong with it, I do have a need sometimes due to time or desire or supplies, to buy these. Thoughts...?

Hello, while I find it so difficult navigating my way around this site, I tend to simply ask rather than search for myself, maybe its lazy, maybe the only way I can find what I am looking for, on the board I have asked for ancient warrior figures in 1-35/1-32 anything just to get my teeth into, and the response I got was disappointing to say the lease hardly worth the read, then I come across this thread showing a dio and a figure. Please, where can I find the site that sells these figures, I honestly don't want the plastic type that look rubbish, can you please help as obviously someone had to place this figure in the first place, so it must come from somewhere. Thank you. I am after ancient Britons, Gaul, Celtic, Templar knight in 1-35 or slightly larger.

Alec, I'm afraid people may miss your question here, as they'll be expecting to hear questions or statements re. the base. I'd suggest that if you want to elicit a better response you start a new topic in Historicus Forma's General Figure Modelling forum, or in the Period and Players forum. Please see my response to your original question here: http://armorama.kitmaker.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=SquawkBox&file=index&req=modules.php?op=modload&name=SquawkBox&file=index&req=viewtopic&topic_id=135869&page=1#1133514 Rudi

Hi Alec In fact, it is not that hard to navigate in HFM. Please see Figures reviews page using this link . There you will see some lists on the left column. They serve well to make you reach the figures you look for .You may choose material, time period, etc. If you choose the Middle Ages time period you will many reviews that you can be interested like Britons, Gauls,Celtics, templars. You can use this Middle Ages link to reach there faster. You will see there some companies has good non-plastic figures of this period. you can check their website to see more products. best regards Engin
