Introduction:

Pegaso’s “PegasObjects” is growing virtually monthly with new releases These kits can serve the modeler as either parts of scenes or complete scenes; these highly detailed 54mm resin kits, that cover many periods and can be used with many different figures, can be used as scenes for figures, or part of the modeler’s greater scenic construction. The subject of this review is ASM-015 Ancient Fountaine, sculpted by talented Italian sculptor Luca Piergentili.

Packaging:

The kit comes in a sturdy, dark colored, relatively big carton box. The box-art, by Lorenzo Bartolomei, provides 3 different colored pictures as a painting guide, and a figure positioning suggestion. The box is filled with paper strips, which serves as protection to the 3 resin pieces, which are inside a zip locker plastic bag.

The Kit:

These scenery kits are designed to be simple in construction and this one, consisting of only 3 pieces, is no exception. These 3 pieces are: a thick base piece with the back of the fountain and the floor of the scenery; triangular piece for the “cap” of the fountain; and a plate for the “face” of it. The dimensions of the fully assembled kit are 5 x 5 cm for the base and 5,9 cm in height.

The kit is sculpted really beautifully, with just the right amount of detail and nice clean surfaces.

The casting (done from the Greek company YS Castings - Masterpieces) is almost perfectly, with no air holes or anything else that has to be corrected. A thin casting line on the outer edge of the 2 parts will be very easily removed with the pass of a new blade.

Fit:

The kit is simple to assemble and with some CA glue you will finish the assembly in just few minutes just as I did. It comes together nicely with no need of scraping or sanding. It ends in a solid block that will be easy to handle with no fear of breaking anything.

Conclusion:

This is a nice scenery kit. Whether you are a beginner or experienced you will have the pleasure of a nice sculpted kit, with superior casting quality, which just needs some careful painting to recreate the materials. Suggested for all modelers. Take care in painting and you will be “Pegaso Satisfied”!

About Costas Rodopoulos (Major_Goose)
FROM: KIKLADHES, GREECE / Ελλάδα

I started modelling 27 years ago with some 1/72 planes and military vehicles. Soon the diorama bug got into me and with Sheperd Paynes books I dug in. I loved to build dioramas and military vehicles till the Vietnam Era. I don't like modern stuff so much. 4 years ago I had a crush on figure painti...
