54mm
S4F04-Sioux Warrior Shooting Carbine

by: Engin Kayral [ GRAYWOLF ]

This is another 54 mm white metal kit from Andrea Miniatures in their Golden West Series and represents a mounted Sioux warrior shooting his carbine. The kit is comprised of 24 parts.

Packaging

The box is usual Andrea Miniatures pack with a color photo of the painted figure on the front. Inside the box, there is another cardboard covering the kit contents. The parts are well protected with foam rubber and small parts are also placed in plastic bags.
A full-color assembly and painting guide in English and Spanish is also included too.

Kit Contents

The warrior is sculpted clinging to the side of the horse to cover himself while aiming his carbine with one hand. The figure is made up from 18 parts including separate parts for feathers, weapons, the shield and additional details. The carbine is cast with the hand to make assembly easier.
Overall casting of figure is reveals no flaws, a perfect fit and a few easy to clean mold lines.

The horse comes in five white metal parts: two body halves, head, tail and ears. The galloping pose, head and muscle details are excellent .Casting is very good but some cleaning and filling are needed during assembly.

A 7 x 3 cm. oval base with mounting holes is also included with the kit. The ground texture is well cast with small rocks

Conclusion

This figure can be an amazing single figure in your display case with a careful paintwork. It can also be a good part of a vignette or diorama with some other Golden West figures.
