by: Engin Kayral [ GRAYWOLF ] [ ALL BY THIS AUTHOR ]

  • Historicus Forma's Artist Q&A is an interview with artists of the historical figure modelling world. These artists may include sculptors and painters; commercial and private modellers; well-known and lesser-known artists. Whoever they may be, the artists featured in Historicus Forma’s Artist Q&A are highly respected members of our global community; people who have greatly influenced our world in their own way. As we honour these artists with this humble Q&A and photo feature, they honour us by sharing a piece of their world.

This time our guest is Vladimir Demchenko, Russian master sculptor and painter and owner of figure producing company BRAVO-6.

    About me

I was born in 1975 in Rostov-on-Don / Russia and now I`m living there. I get youth artist school and high architectural education and my diploma profession is Interior Designer. I worked more than 10 years with it.

I live with my wife Natalie and we have a 9 years old daughter Anna.

It was always my dream to have my own figure line. Since 2005, I sculpted for different companies like TANK and MIG-productions. My own BRAVO-6 project was began in 2008.

Q: Your earliest modelling moment or the first time you met military models?

A: I got my first assembly model when I was 8 years old. It was a submarine and was assembled by my Dad. I got great passion and interest for this hobby. I`d like to say that it was in USSR, early 1980th and there were great problems to buy plastic models. Seldom you can met model in toy shops, but only airplanes 1:72 scale -no tanks, vehic les and figures. That`s why all Russian modellers of 1980th began their carriers with airplanes.
